Smooth Chignon Adding Jewellery

Chignon

A really easy but pretty hairstyle to create.

  •       Brush the hair into a low pony tail at the nape of the head
  •       Gently backcomb the top section of the pony tail to create thickness
  •       Roll the hair from the tip upwards, so the backcombed hair is on the inside of the bun
  •       Pin into place with grips
  •       Part the hair so there are no gaps or hollow spaces

Adding Jewellery

Adding jewellery is great option to build on a hairstyle to get a interesting look, especially catwalk and editorial. A good way to build a collection of hair jewellery is to keep broken accessories.

Adding Accessories

  •       Once jewellery is selected, examine the hairstyle and play with a few different placement
  • options
  •       Once the placement has been chosen, secure the first anchor point with a hair slide or pin
  •       Then go a long securing at each point necessary
  •       The hair style must be secure for a runway and shoot with much movement
  •       Hair nets can be used to help
  • jewellery looks nice fitted along plaits and twists
  • brooches and fabric are also good options for accessorising hairstyle

Here is a broken string of costume pearls; I think this look would be great for a bridal. I used grips under the chignon and pins above and around the sides to secure into place.

This shell look was an elastic bracelet that fit round the bun and could be pinned for extra hold. This would be nice with a texturized chignon for a beach look.

This is another bracelet, they fit really nicely around the bun.

This broken necklace worker very well for a who look.
